Aviapark Mall, Moscow; the prestigious location where the historic brand of Florentine high fashion “Meucci” opened its first boutique with a completely new look.

The boutique, designed by the Florentine studio PLS design, demonstrates an environment of strong visual impact that engages the viewer from an emotional point of view: a fusion of contemporary elements and evocative references of the Italian tradition.

It’s a space that represents a thought or a vision of the world with a captivating image that combines memory, style and quality. The brand Meucci boasts a century of intensive production: having always been alongside the Florentine artisan tradition with careful tailoring experimentation and innovative approaches to design, the brand focuses on using only the finest materials and the most elegant of lines.

Trying to interpret the past in a contemporary and innovative setting is the challenge that the company seeks to achieve.
PLS design reinterprets this design challenge by creating an evocative atmosphere, from essential and contemporary design with the aim to enhance the product while boosting the brand image at the same time. The interior space, designed as a sophisticated atmosphere and welcoming environment, is built on a clever play of color contrasts and textural counterpoints.

Strict geometries have been replicated on horizontal and vertical surfaces where, materiality, attention to detail and simplicity come together. The linen fabric coverings, in warm tones and neutral, enhance the clothes that become protagonists in this way.

The warm tones of the light wood characterize the new furnishings and the introduction of the burnished brass finishes allow one to scan the space and decline it to different types of displays, shelving, drawers and hanging. The spatial depth of the display environment, emphasized due to the long perimeter walls, focuses attention on the back wall. The paneling is skillfully covered in leather with visible stitching and characterized by the geometry as seen in the paving stone.

The charm of the artisan tradition that joins the extremely contemporary forms makes it so that the elegance of the leather will become the centerpiece of the Boutique. Unexpected geometries and breakdowns of the space with mirrors that wrap around the columns; surface markings by the deep and embracing texture of the soft carpet finely crafted by a historical company in the Sardinian textile tradition both contribute to evoke domestic interiors and a reassuring softness.

The lighting system organizes the space dividing it into two distinct showcase areas: the “display wall” conceived in the traditional sense of a fixed display and the “wall display system” that due to the flexibility in highlighting products transmits the idea of a dynamic and constantly evolving store.

Separating both physically and conceptually the two areas is a dividing wall made of dark wood and smoked glass that functions as additional shelving and hanging displays. Refined materials, compositional simplicity and traditional elements follow each other in a space that summarizes, with its clean lines, the “leitmotif” of the Meucci collection.
