Retail Design Expo, Europe’s leading annual event for innovation and inspiration in retail design, marketing, visual merchandising and shopfitting has announced the shortlist of it’s inaugural Innovation Trail and Awards, sponsored by 20.20.
Exhibitors at Retail Design Expo, and the co-located Retail Digital Signage Expo, were invited to submit the innovative solutions, services and products that will be on display at both shows.
A specially selected judging panel shortlisted the entries, resulting in the 18 innovations that will be on display at Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage Expo, encouraging visitors to seek out the ideas and products that could drive future changes to the industry and their businesses.
The innovations will also be displayed in a dedicated innovation area, while an overall winner of the scheme will be announced at Retail Design Expo.
“Retailers need to reinvent themselves. They have spent many years improving internal processes, but today’s customers are asking retailers to focus on them, not on the systems,” says 20.20 director of retail Mariann Wenckheim. “Retailers must become more extrovert, more people focused, more generous, and more innovative.”
Annie Swift, Event Director, Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage Expo said, “Innovation is crucial to the success of modern multichannel retailing, and that is why it sits at the heart of both Retail Design Expo and Retail Digital Signage Expo. We were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the entries, and our judging panel had a tough job in selected the final shortlist.”
