Signature by the Sea, is a seafood and sushi restaurant open in the marvelous beach of Dea del Mare in Byblos, with an amazing modern coastal ambiance and a breathtaking sea view. The venue provides direct sandy beach access, an infinity pool and bungalows to rent.
Crafted by interior designer Delphine Gebran, it represents a harmonious blend of textures, shapes, and light that captures the essence of the sea, breathing in rhythm with the ocean. It’s a space that naturally combines the ethereal beauty of sunset with the mysterious allure of the underwater world.
Seamless fusion of organic forms and coastal aesthetics
Designed to look like naturally formed and deeply calming, the space breathes with the rhythms of the sea, sculpted in the most natural way. Shapes mimic the organic forms found in coastal environments, from the fluid curves of sea waves to the gentle undulations of dunes.
Delicate salmon hues envelop the surfaces, like the last rays of light at dusk, while cool blue and white accents evoke the boundless tranquility of the ocean. Every element moves with the rhythm of the tides: from the soft curves of the furnishings to the natural patterns in the materials, creating a sensory experience that is both serene and vibrant, as if the ocean itself had gracefully shaped the space. The walls, textured and rough like a coral reef, are crafted from layered wood, evoking the fluid, rhythmic movement of waves.
Suspended light installations echo the magic of bioluminescent creatures inhabiting the deep sea. Their light spreads in a mesmerizing dance, transforming the space into an aquatic-inspired environment where the boundaries between reality and fantasy dissolve harmoniously.
Approaching the seafood counter feels like entering a captivating aquarium. The walls, made of shimmering blue glass, reflect the surrounding environment and create the illusion of being submerged in the ocean’s depths. Light filtering through the glass reflects and refracts in such a way that it appears as though ethereal, luminescent sea creatures are gliding gracefully through the space.
Custom-designed furnishings evoke the fluid, organic forms of underwater life, inviting guests to sink into their warm embrace. Elegant, enveloping, and comfortable, the furniture gives the feeling of being sheltered inside a shell. Blue glass tables add a touch of modern elegance; their reflective surfaces create delicate patches of shimmering blue patches of water that dance across the floor as sunlight passes through.
Lighting design inspired by the depths of the ocean
Light spreads from the ceiling, casting intricate shadows reminiscent of sunbeams filtering through water. As sunlight streams through the skylight, it transforms into a cascade of moving blue patterns, mirroring the play of light beneath the ocean’s surface. The ambient lighting varies in intensity and hue, reflecting the moods of the sea, shifting from serene calm to vibrant energy.
The light plays across the ceiling, casting complex shadows that mimic the interplay of sunlight filtering through water. When sunlight streams through the skylight, it transforms into a gentle cascade of blue patterns that shift and change, akin to the way sunlight moves beneath the waves.
Ambient lighting shifts in intensity and hue, echoing the changing moods of the sea from serene and calm to invigorating and vibrant.
