Outhouse Jewellery Goa boutique by Studio Hasta

Interno della Gioielleria Outhouse a Goa progettata da Studio Hasta, tavolo espositivo in pietra con gioielli, elementi scultorei e tende rosa salmone

The Outhouse Jewellery Goa boutique is located within a heritage Portuguese villa in the State of Goa, along Indiaโ€™s western coastline. Designed by Studio Hasta, the project translates the brandโ€™s identity into an experiential retail environment rooted in its local context.

Studio Hasta and brand collaboration

The intervention stems from a collaboration between Studio Hasta, led by architect Nishil Shah, and brand co-founders Kaabia Grewal and Sasha Grewal. Architecture, product, and place are conceived as interdependent elements within a shared design vision.

Rather than altering the villaโ€™s original character, the project builds upon it. Sculptural gestures, tactile surfaces, and artisanal details define a contemporary narrative embedded within the historical envelope.

Spatial sequence and circulation

The boutique unfolds across two interconnected rooms linked by a continuous and fluid path. Thick limewashed walls are carved with sinuous incisions that guide both movement and perception, progressively introducing visitors to the brandโ€™s universe.

Material palette and natural light

The material palette plays a defining role in shaping the atmosphere. Salmon pink, natural white, and cement grey articulate the architectural elements, interacting with earthy surfaces and filtered natural light.

Materiality functions as a narrative tool rather than a decorative layer, reinforcing the boutiqueโ€™s tactile and spatial depth.

Sculptural display and craftsmanship

Display systems integrate sculptural components that enhance the artisanal identity of the project. Anthropomorphic terracotta figures, customised ceramic vases featuring the brandโ€™s monograms and iconic gemstones, and a beige bamboo lamp crafted from local materials contribute to a cohesive environment.

Retail space as a place of pause

The layout of furnishings and display counters encourages slow and intuitive interaction. Jewellery and bags are positioned within an enveloping setting where the retail dimension approaches a domestic and contemplative scale.

The Outhouse Jewellery Goa boutique articulates a vision of luxury retail grounded in place, merging the brandโ€™s aesthetic language with the calm and luminous rhythm of Goa.
