Ukrainian studio Hvylya Design has completed the interior design for GxBar, the new retail space of a well-known beauty brand, recently opened in Barcelona. Located at 21 Av. de Sarrià, just steps from the lively Diagonal, the 98 sqm salon harmoniously blends the brand’s strong identity with subtle references to local architecture.
A design concept inspired by Mediterranean tones and local architecture
The project draws inspiration from the essence of Barcelona itself. The sandy tones of historic façades, the soft textures, and the warm Mediterranean colors define the salon’s visual language. Beige hues are combined with deep blue accents and metal finishes, creating a contemporary and welcoming environment where beauty meets emotion.
Functional layout and zoning for an elevated customer experience
One of the core goals of the project was to create a well-structured layout that enhances functionality while ensuring comfort.
- The front area, overlooking the street, is dynamic and open, featuring the reception desk, manicure and make-up stations, and a hairstyling zone.
- The partially screened shop windows ensure privacy for customers while maintaining strong street visibility.
- The rear section houses more intimate rooms dedicated to pedicure treatments, facials, and relaxation zones, enhancing the overall sense of serenity.
Bespoke furniture and signature pieces that define the space
Each zone is enriched with custom-designed furniture and unique decorative elements that reflect the brand’s visual identity.
In the make-up area, standout pieces include the Oito mirror by Vania Voitovych and the Sled chairs by Vlad Tolochko, both manufactured by Ukrainian furniture maker 4 Corners.
Meanwhile, the pedicure lounge features reclining armchairs that evoke the ambiance of a home cinema, offering maximum comfort and a memorable experience.
Refined materials and a cohesive color palette
The reception and skincare areas are finished with decorative plaster in warm, sandy tones, contributing to a cozy and tactile atmosphere. Other areas follow the same visual logic, with neutral shades, textured surfaces, and deep blue accents, ensuring spatial and chromatic consistency throughout the salon.
