Located at Vicolungo The Style Outlets, near Novara, Antonino – Il Banco di Cannavacciuolo interprets Neapolitan street food through a hospitality format designed by lamatilde. The space combines food preparation, sales and immediate consumption with a small retail component dedicated to cookbooks, aprons and objects selected by chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo.
Covering 144 sqm, the venue develops a design language inspired by the convivial atmosphere of Italian markets and public squares. The project translates this reference into a clear spatial layout, where counters, shelving, mirrored surfaces and warm materials create an informal yet distinctive environment.

A layout inspired by the market square
The floor plan is organised into two main areas: one dedicated to food preparation and the other to sales and consumption. The main counter positioned at the rear defines the central perspective of the space, while two lateral entrances to the service areas reinforce the frontal composition.
A second counter positioned perpendicular to the first, together with tables and seating, breaks up the regularity of the layout and introduces greater variety into the use of the space.
Along the side walls, a structure inspired by traditional market awnings incorporates mirrored panels and contributes to the image of a covered square. The reference to the marketplace is therefore translated into the architecture through elements that combine function, display and scenography.

Custom furniture and materials
The furniture is designed as an integral part of the format. The wall-mounted display units are arranged over three levels, combining upper and lower storage compartments with a central section dedicated to product display.
At selected points, semicircular niches interrupt the linear shelving and highlight individual products. Wood introduces warmth and texture, contrasting with the lightweight metal structure finished in white.
The counters also contribute to the identity of the interior. Their surfaces are clad in a specially developed cement-based finish, incorporating aggregates selected to complement the Antonino brand palette.
Graphics and visual identity
The project extends beyond the interior to incorporate visual identity and communication. The logo uses a vernacular-inspired script, while illustrations and patterns reference everyday mealtimes and the popular visual language associated with Neapolitan food culture.
The packaging draws on expressions and sayings from the Neapolitan tradition, while the wallpaper patterns were created using kitchen utensils such as forks, whisks and knives in place of conventional drawing tools.

Street food meets hospitality design
The format combines food service, retail and on-the-go consumption within a single environment. The menu features sweet and savoury specialities from the Campania tradition, including sfogliatelle, babà, fried pizza, aubergine parmigiana and the traditional “cuoppo”.
The architecture supports this approach through a direct and accessible design language, defined by recognisable materials, integrated display systems and a layout that accommodates both quick consumption and longer stays.
