Drytac Polar PET 170 and SpotOn SynTac: PVC-Free Media for Floor and Wall Graphics

Drytac launches new PVC-free floor and wall graphics media

Drytac Polar PET 170 and SpotOn SynTac are PVC-free media developed for indoor floor and wall graphics, including directional signage, retail promotions, point-of-sale communication and decorative applications.

The two products use different materials and adhesive systems but share an approach focused on removable applications, slip resistance and compatibility with graphics used in public and commercial environments.

SpotOn SynTac: removable PP film for indoor applications

SpotOn SynTac is a 120 μm (4.8 mil) PVC-free polypropylene film coated with a dot-pattern adhesive designed to simplify installation and removal.

The material can be applied to standard smooth floor and wall surfaces and has a stated indoor durability of up to 12 months.

For applications requiring additional protection, SpotOn SynTac can be combined with Drytac’s Interlam EcoTex, a PVC-free overlaminating film designed to increase durability while maintaining a PVC-free construction.

The peel-and-stick format makes the material suitable for temporary graphics, seasonal communication and retail applications that require periodic replacement.

Polar PET 170: recycled content and a slip-resistant surface

Polar PET 170 is a PVC-free film developed for indoor floor and wall graphics with a stated service life of up to six months.

The material contains up to 40% industrial recycled content and is designed with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side to facilitate installation and removal.

Its exposed surface has a textured matt finish that provides slip resistance without requiring an additional laminate.

According to Drytac, Polar PET 170 is also designed to withstand significant temperature variations and can be applied to a range of standard wall and flooring surfaces.

Slip resistance and requirements for public spaces

Floor graphics used in commercial and public environments require particular attention to slip resistance and durability.

When combined with Interlam EcoTex, SpotOn SynTac is stated to have achieved post-print slip-resistance ratings according to DIN 51130, ANSI A137.1 and the EN 13036-4 / ASTM E303 Pendulum Test.

Drytac also states that Polar PET 170 has achieved equivalent slip-resistance certifications.

Applications for retail, signage and visual communication

Both products can be used for floor and wall graphics across a variety of temporary and medium-term applications.

Typical uses include directional signage, retail promotions, point-of-sale advertising, decals and branded wall graphics.

Their white, ink-receptive surfaces allow printed graphics to become part of the physical retail environment, while the removable adhesive systems facilitate subsequent changes to campaigns, layouts and communication.

By combining PVC-free substrates with different levels of durability and surface performance, Polar PET 170 and SpotOn SynTac provide two approaches to graphics designed for commercial interiors and visual communication.
