New Concept for Stephanides Jewellery Store in Limassol

Il progetto per il rinnovo della gioielleria Stephanides è stato affidato allo Studio di architettura Dobas AG,

Recently renovated, the refined multi-brand Stephanides jewellery store interprets contemporary luxury through a design language that combines Mediterranean elegance, premium materials and artisanal detailing. Founded in 1960, Anastasios Stephanides & Son Ltd. has been a benchmark for high-end jewellery retail in Cyprus for more than six decades.

The redesign of both the interior and façade was entrusted to Dobas AG, which created a bright and sophisticated environment in the modern eastern district of Limassol. Through a careful selection of materials and a refined spatial composition, the project enhances the presentation of jewellery while delivering a distinctive luxury retail experience.

Walnut and Brass Furnishings Define a Timeless Luxury Atmosphere

The 105-square-metre space welcomes visitors with a palette of beige, white and soft green tones inspired by Cyprus’ natural landscape and sandy coastline. Walnut and brass furnishings contribute to a timeless sense of luxury, while stone and marble surfaces evoke the material richness of Mediterranean architecture.

Geometric forms sculpted into the plaster walls introduce a contemporary layer, creating a balanced dialogue between heritage references and modern retail design.

A Bespoke Reception Desk as the Focal Point

At the centre of the store stands a bespoke reception desk crafted from walnut and plaster. Inspired by the proportions of classical Greek columns, the sculptural element immediately establishes itself as the visual anchor of the interior.

The design demonstrates how a reception area can become much more than a functional component, contributing to brand identity and reinforcing the character of a luxury retail environment.

Three-dimensional graphics, geometric wall treatments and metal partition structures add rhythm and depth to the space, while decorative surfaces inspired by laser-engraved tile patterns reinforce the project’s cohesive visual language.

Display Systems in Walnut and Lasa Marble

The display concept combines elegant walnut-finished vertical showcases with horizontal display units clad in polished Lasa marble. Marble volumes integrate display cases and storage units, maintaining visual order while ensuring material continuity throughout the store.

The project highlights how display design and material selection can enhance product perception, creating a sophisticated setting that elevates the presentation of jewellery and watches.

Lighting also plays a key role. Natural daylight entering through the large storefront interacts with indirect lighting solutions that accentuate the three-dimensional surfaces and guide visitors through the showroom.

A Façade Inspired by Mediterranean Light

Clad in beige sandstone with horizontal and vertical inserts, the façade expresses the bright and elegant character of the project. During the day, natural Mediterranean light enhances the texture of the surface, while integrated bronze profiles and concealed LED lighting create a more dramatic presence after sunset.

With this intervention, Dobas AG has created a cosmopolitan retail environment that interprets contemporary luxury through noble materials, carefully crafted details and subtle references to Mediterranean culture.
