Gorgeous Beauty Salon in Bucharest: Interior Design by HNK

Lo studio HNK di Hamid Nicola Katrib progetta il salone di bellezza Gorgeous

Designed by HNK Studio in Bucharest, Gorgeous Beauty Salon combines architectural forms, bespoke furnishings and a carefully balanced colour palette to create a sequence of spaces dedicated to beauty and wellness. Reception, treatment rooms, solarium cabins and service areas are organised along a layout that alternates bright, welcoming environments with more intimate spaces designed for privacy and relaxation.

The salon includes a reception area, two solarium rooms, two beauty treatment rooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette. Each space has its own identity while remaining part of a coherent interior concept, where materials, colours and architectural details guide visitors through the different functional areas.

A reception designed as the focal point of the project

The reception acts as the visual and functional centre of the salon. Bespoke furniture, decorative finishes and curved architectural elements define the character of the entrance. A suspended seat surrounded by fabric flowers introduces a sculptural feature, while two custom-designed armchairs upholstered in dusty pink velvet with brass details reinforce the elegant atmosphere of the space.

Colour palette, materials and architectural details

The interior palette revolves around soft dusty pink tones combined with deeper shades of violet and blue, creating a sequence of environments with distinct visual identities. Colour is used not only as a decorative feature but also as a design tool that differentiates the various functional areas throughout the salon.

Glossy ceramic wall tiles enhance light reflection within the reception, while a custom-designed wallpaper introduces a deep violet backdrop that contrasts with the lighter finishes. Brass detailing highlights both the reception counter and the large arches, adding refinement to the architectural composition.

The generous ceiling height allowed the designers to introduce two perfectly symmetrical arches that become the defining architectural feature of the project. One frames the transition towards the treatment rooms, while the other, positioned behind the reception desk, incorporates the retail display area into the overall composition.

A transition space connecting the functional areas

The corridor leading to the treatment rooms acts as a transitional element between the bright reception and the more intimate wellness areas. Blue-violet walls alter the perception of the space, while the large entrance arch emphasises the room’s vertical proportions and reinforces the continuity of the architectural language.

Treatment rooms with individual identities

Each treatment room has been developed with its own decorative theme while maintaining consistency with the overall interior concept. The massage room features a tropical wallpaper designed by HNK Studio, complemented by colour-changing LED lighting that allows different atmospheres to be created according to operational requirements.

The two solarium rooms adopt a more relaxing palette and accommodate professional tanning beds alongside large mirrors that visually expand the interiors. Rounded forms, bespoke furniture and metallic accents create continuity throughout the salon despite the different functions of each room.

Lighting and bespoke furniture shape the interiors

Lighting plays an essential role in enhancing materials, colours and architectural details. In the reception, light emphasises the glossy finishes and brass inserts, while in the treatment rooms adjustable LED systems contribute to creating different visual atmospheres. Bespoke furnishings complete the interior by integrating seamlessly with the architecture and reinforcing the project’s coherent design language.

Through the combination of spatial organisation, colour, materials and custom-designed furniture, Gorgeous Beauty Salon develops a coherent interior identity where each environment maintains its own character while remaining part of a unified architectural composition.
