Lumberjack showroom: four product identities shape the retail space

Lumberjack’s 227 sqm showroom in Istanbul is organised around four product categories, each translated by CBTE Architecture into a distinct spatial identity. UrbaNature, Outdoor, Sport and Junior are differentiated through materials, textures, graphics and display solutions, while a largely open central area maintains visual continuity across the interior.

Rather than treating the showroom as a uniform display environment, the project uses the characteristics associated with each collection to define different areas within a single space.

Four product categories define the showroom

The four areas dedicated to UrbaNature, Outdoor, Sport and Junior use different combinations of materials and visual references to establish their individual character.

In the UrbaNature area, timber elements extend from the display structures towards the ceiling, introducing a reference to the natural environment. Other parts of the showroom use brick and plaster surfaces, while graphic treatments and graffiti-inspired elements provide a more urban backdrop to the footwear displays.

The differentiation remains legible without fragmenting the showroom into enclosed departments. Instead, the individual identities are integrated into a continuous layout in which products remain visible across the space.

Perimeter displays leave the centre open

Most of the footwear is displayed along the perimeter walls, leaving a generous open area through the centre of the showroom. This organisation facilitates movement and provides long views across the different product categories.

Freestanding tables occupy selected points within this open space. Combined with seating and pendant lighting, they provide work surfaces where products can be examined and compared without obstructing circulation. The arrangement establishes a clear hierarchy between the high-capacity wall displays and the more focused presentation areas positioned in the centre.

Overhead, timber elements, suspended lighting and green inserts introduce another layer to the interior and help distinguish the different areas without relying on physical partitions. The result is an open showroom in which merchandising, circulation and product identity are coordinated through the layout rather than through separate rooms.
