At China World in Beijing, Salvatore Ferragamo renews its flagship store through a restyling project that redefines the spaces dedicated to the women’s and men’s collections. Arranged over two levels and covering approximately 780 sqm, the boutique brings together bags, footwear, small leather goods, ready-to-wear, silk accessories, eyewear, fragrances and watches.
The project creates distinct environments for the women’s and men’s collections while maintaining a consistent design language based on materials, softly rounded furniture and a combination of wood, marble, metals and textiles.
A façade inspired by the Vara shoe
The boutique is introduced by a façade featuring a bronze panel illuminated by vertical LED strips, whose pattern recalls the grosgrain bow of the Vara shoe, one of Ferragamo’s most recognisable design signatures.
On the ground floor, dedicated to the women’s collections, the entrance opens onto a large double-height space devoted to bags. From here, a sequence of adjoining areas accommodates bags, jewellery, accessories and ready-to-wear, while a dedicated display wall presents the footwear collection.
Walnut furniture is characterised by soft, rounded forms, polished surfaces and metal details in brass and steel. Sofas upholstered in gold and pink silk velvet complete the women’s area, introducing a softer and more tactile dimension.

Different materials and tones for the men’s area
The upper floor houses the men’s collections and adopts a different material and colour palette. Wood and marble flooring is combined with walnut furniture, while blue and mustard velvet sofas and armchairs define areas for customer seating and product presentation.
A VIP room, accessible via a dedicated lift, completes the store programme and is also designed to accommodate trunk shows and private presentations.
Energy efficiency and environmental quality
The restyling also addresses the energy and environmental performance of the retail space. The project was developed according to Green Building Council criteria with the objective of achieving LEED Gold certification, considering energy and water efficiency, material selection, construction management and indoor environmental quality.
The China World flagship therefore combines the renewal of Salvatore Ferragamo’s retail environment with an approach that also considers the performance of the built space.
