The Tumi boutique in Hong Kong, designed by Studio Cassells, is located inside K11 Musea Mall, a complex that combines retail, art and cultural spaces. The 56-square-metre store is organised around kinetic art, interactive displays and product presentation systems.
A kinetic wall defines the centre of the Tumi boutique
The main installation is a kinetic wall composed of 45 sculptural elements, each representing a suitcase from Tumi’s 19 Degree Collection.
Each element is controlled by an individual electric servo motor, allowing the suitcases to rotate independently. Their coordinated movement transforms the wall into a continuously changing display.
The animation was developed through a sequence of programmed movements, with support from the manufacturer’s technical team.

Mechanical art and digital displays shape the retail space
The interior also includes moving mechanical installations by local artist Bao, interactive LED displays and augmented reality applications.
Shelving, freestanding display fixtures and product areas were designed in coordination with the kinetic wall. The composition links the movement of the installation with the presentation of Tumi’s luggage and accessories.
