Alifierakis Pharmacy in Crete: design between Greek identity and contemporary interiors

Lefteris Tsikandilakis + Architects progetta la Farmacia Alifierakis

Alifierakis Pharmacy, designed by Lefteris Tsikandilakis + Architects in Heraklion, on the island of Crete, was developed as a multifunctional space with distinctive architectural elements connected to Greek identity.

The project creates a bright and orderly environment where materials, lighting and furniture contribute to a pharmacy with an essential yet recognizable language. The intervention combines operational functionality with decorative elements capable of defining a welcoming customer experience.

Decorative elements and luminous atmosphere

The use of light materials and luminous tones contributes to a fresh and relaxing atmosphere. One of the projectโ€™s distinctive elements is the wooden structure installed on the ceiling, conceived as a decorative feature that captures attention and reinforces the identity of the space.

The ceiling composition introduces rhythm and movement inside the pharmacy, contributing to the perception of a dynamic yet balanced interior.

Modern furniture and spatial organization

The contemporary furniture is placed along the perimeter of the space, maintaining visual order and spatial lightness. This configuration enhances the layout without visually overloading the interior.

The service counter, characterized by metal finishes, is positioned in front of the entrance, allowing immediate interaction between staff and customers and improving the operational functionality of the pharmacy.

Lighting and exterior identity of the pharmacy

The exterior of Alifierakis Pharmacy presents a dynamic design supported by carefully developed lighting. Decorative illuminated signs reinforce the recognizability of the store and contribute to the visual identity of the pharmacy within the urban context.

The integration of lighting design, materials and furniture defines a coherent space both inside and outside.
