C2 Interioristas embraced the challenge of transforming Gianduia Gelatería, an artisanal ice-cream shop, into a space that would not only reflect the premium quality of its products but also capture the essence of an artisanal pastry shop. Gianduia Gelatería is renowned for its use of traditional recipes enhanced with creativity and the finest ingredients. The design aimed to convey the values of craftsmanship, quality, and the exclusive character that defines its offering.
Concept and Layout
The design focuses on creating a warm yet sophisticated atmosphere, where attention to detail is paramount. The space is structured with staggered Pladur panels that extend along the walls and ceiling, visually unifying the environment while adding depth. These panels, complemented by concealed lighting in three color temperatures, create an immersive, dynamic ambiance that adapts to different areas, promoting both comfort and functionality.
Materials and Finishes
The initial proposal showcased materials that evoke the artisanal spirit of the ice-cream shop. Biscuit-like textures adorned the interior façade wall, while the walls and ceilings were coated with clay-based mortar and paint, achieving a unique tactile experience that aligns with the handcrafted nature of Gianduia’s products. The floor was originally designed with a gradient terrazzo that symbolized the gelateria’s essential ingredients, like crushed hazelnuts, cocoa, and sugar.
However, due to client requests and budget adjustments, some modifications were made. The clay mortar and paint were replaced with high-quality plastic paint, which maintains a clean, appealing finish at a more accessible cost. Similarly, the gradient terrazzo floor was swapped for a terrazzo-effect porcelain tile, a cost-effective solution that retains the style and durability of the original design.
Despite these changes, C2 Interioristas ensured that the project’s essence, along with its premium quality and aesthetics, remained intact.
Lighting and Ambience
Lighting remains a key feature of the design. The concealed lighting system creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while task lighting enhances service efficiency and highlights specific focal areas. The varied color temperatures continue to contribute to a clean, attractive atmosphere that invites customers to immerse themselves in the space.

The value of Gianduia Gelatería’s design lies in its meticulous attention to detail. Despite adjustments in materials, the focus on visual quality and functionality remained unwavering. Carefully selected materials and sophisticated lighting solutions make this ice-cream shop a space where design and functionality harmonize seamlessly, creating a welcoming yet contemporary environment.
