KSISTERS Flagship Store in Singapore: where Korean heritage meets contemporary design

Open Studio has designed the first flagship store for KSISTERS, the Korean beauty and lifestyle brand that, after years of success in the digital world, enters the physical retail scene with a 60 sqm space in the heart of Singapore. This new store represents a strategic step in the brand’s evolution, blending contemporary aesthetics with cultural references deeply rooted in Korean tradition.

Inspired by the Hanok, the traditional Korean house, the concept develops an architectural language that balances masterful craftsmanship with innovative materials. The interior stands out for its use of interlocking wooden structures and translucent resin volumes, creating an immersive and visually striking environment that expresses the brand’s identity.

“The KSISTERS flagship concept allowed us to explore the dialogue between history and modernity, with the goal of creating an authentic and engaging retail experience,” says Jun Nan, founder of Open Studio.

A fluid, experiential, and ever-evolving space

The layout is structured around three interconnected open-plan zones, designed to ensure maximum flow throughout the store and to encourage direct interaction with the products. Along the perimeter, monochromatic shelves provide a clean backdrop for KSISTERS’ multi-brand collection. At the center, translucent resin volumes serve as both scenographic features and flexible displays, which can be refreshed seasonally with botanical arrangements or thematic installations.

Materiality and atmosphere: an homage to Hanok tradition

Materiality is one of the project’s core elements. The palette includes teak wood, granite flooring, metal chains, and backlit timber panels—evoking the essential elegance of traditional architecture. In contrast, the soft, neutral-toned resin volumes introduce visual lightness and brightness, balancing the density of the natural materials.

A new connection between physical and digital

Conceived as a bridge between the brand’s digital identity and its first physical presence, the KSISTERS flagship store offers an accessible, inclusive, and culturally immersive retail experience. Every detail—from spatial organization to product interaction—was designed to reinforce the bond with the customer and shape a consistent narrative between heritage and innovation.
