Alannah Hill’s flagship Sydney store is the result of a close collaboration between David Hicks Interior Design and Soho Projects.
Located in the heritage Strand Shopping Centre, this space features Victorian architecture details, which have been retained and incorporated into the retail design. The ceilings are high and the collonades long. This heritage listed building is one of the most treasured centres in Australia. Located at the George street end of the building is the Alannah Hill store, one of the largest within the complex. The beautiful archtectural details of the building have been retained and incorporated into the design for Alannah’s new vision.
These traditional elements have been layed over with red silk carpet, turquoise fabric wall panelling, vintage chandeliers and glass display cabinets to create an emporium of girly delights. The sumptuous materials used, such as cecil beaton wall paper, bevelled mirrors, lucite tables and white lacquered shell back chairs upholstered in hot pink create an environment which is one of intrigue and ecitement.
