Retail design consultancy The One Off has received the Creative Retail Awards Best Stand at EuroShop, one of the most recognised acknowledgements for stand design within the international retail exhibition landscape.
The award was assigned by a joint jury from the Creative Retail Awards and EuroShop, evaluating stands across the exhibition halls according to criteria including design impact, brand communication, visitor engagement and innovation.
EuroShop, held in Düsseldorf, is widely considered the world’s leading trade fair for retail design and technology. The 2025 edition gathered more than 1,800 exhibitors from over 60 countries and welcomed more than 80,000 trade visitors from 140 nations, providing a highly competitive international context for the award.
A stand concept inspired by the culture of record stores
The One Off presented its stand inside the Designers Village, a curated area dedicated to dialogue among retail designers and industry professionals.
Rather than adopting a conventional portfolio display, the consultancy developed a concept inspired by the format of a record shop. More than twenty years of projects were presented as vinyl record sleeves arranged as a structured “back catalogue”.
This repeated graphic system created visual rhythm and clarity within the stand, while materials and lighting were used with restraint to maintain a clean and legible spatial environment.

Visitors could select a sleeve and place it on one of several record players installed in the stand, activating a video presentation related to the chosen project. The installation combined nostalgic cultural references with interactive technology, encouraging visitors to engage directly with the content.
Visitor interaction at the centre of the Creative Retail Awards evaluation
For many visitors, the record shop format evoked the tactile and social experience of browsing a physical music store. This familiarity transformed the stand from a simple portfolio display into an immersive environment built around discovery and interaction.
According to the Creative Retail Awards jury, stands were evaluated based on their effectiveness within the allocated footprint rather than on size or budget, making the competition particularly close among the participating exhibitors.
“There were many highly innovative and visually impressive stands across the halls this year, and the judging process was not easy. What set The One Off apart was the clarity of the idea and the discipline of its execution. The concept delivered strong visual impact, communicated the brand immediately and created genuine interaction with visitors.”

Designing an immersive retail experience
James Hanson, Managing Director at The One Off, highlighted how the project reflects the studio’s approach to contemporary retail environments:
“Winning Best Stand Design at EuroShop is a proper credit to our whole team. We set out to build a stand that expressed how we see the future of physical retail: less transactional, more emotional, and rooted in connection and community.”
James Hanson, Managing Director, The One Off
The record store concept provided a familiar cultural reference point, while the integration of interior design, graphics, digital media and motion content helped transform the idea into a fully immersive spatial experience.
The Creative Retail Awards recognition confirms how innovative storytelling and interactive design can redefine the way brands present their work within international retail exhibitions.
