Located in the Seminyak district of Bali, Kanvaz Pâtisserie by French pastry chef Vincent Nigita transforms the former tea bar of the Kanvaz Hotel into a contemporary pastry destination designed by Léon Design Agency. The project combines references to Parisian fashion ateliers with immersive monochromatic interiors, industrial architectural elements and soft geometries to create a retail environment focused on product presentation and customer experience.

The concept translates Parisian fashion atelier codes into an immersive pastry environment
For the opening of the new pâtisserie, Léon Design Agency developed a concept inspired by the elegance and precision of traditional French fashion ateliers. The interior balances refined detailing with a contemporary retail approach, creating a space that reflects both the personality of Vincent Nigita and the visual identity of his pastry creations.
A strong monochromatic blue palette defines the entire venue, covering walls, furniture and architectural details. The immersive use of colour creates a suspended atmosphere where pastries and desserts become the visual focal point of the customer experience.
Curved forms and industrial elements shape the customer journey
The project preserves the original industrial structure of the venue and integrates it into the new interior concept. Exposed technical and structural elements reinforce the contrast between the industrial shell and the more elegant and intimate character introduced by the redesign.
Curved shapes become a recurring design element throughout the space. Walls, counters and retail displays adopt soft geometries that guide the customer journey while enhancing the sense of continuity within the interior. The use of rounded forms contributes to a more welcoming atmosphere and reinforces the perception of craftsmanship and quality.

The upper floor recreates the atmosphere of a contemporary Parisian boudoir
On the second floor, the project introduces a more intimate hospitality setting inspired by the atmosphere of Parisian boudoirs. Cylindrical elements and high tables organise the layout and define smaller social areas within the space.
Mosaic flooring adds texture and visual rhythm to the interior while contributing to the identity of the environment. The combination of materials, forms and spatial organisation creates an experiential setting where interior design and hospitality functions work together to shape the customer experience.

Monochromatic interiors and lighting highlight pastry displays and visual hierarchy
The monochromatic palette allows the colourful pastry creations to stand out against the surrounding architecture. Product presentation becomes a central component of the project, supported by visual contrast, lighting and spatial composition.
Lighting contributes to the immersive atmosphere of the pâtisserie while improving the readability of display areas and circulation paths. The project establishes a clear relationship between retail displays, interior architecture and customer perception, reinforcing the experiential dimension of the space.
