The àPetit restaurant in Aosta, designed by lamatilde, develops a hospitality concept based on the integration of interior design, visual identity and communication. In a 40 sqm space, the venue brings together different expressions of Italian regional street food through a compact environment defined by vivid colours, material surfaces and custom furniture.
The project transforms a small space into an immersive experience, where graphics, materials and layout contribute to a recognizable identity consistent with the brand’s gastronomic offer.
Hospitality concept and interior design for small spaces
The project developed by lamatilde combines concept, interior and visual communication through an exuberant language defined by soft shapes and bright colour palettes. The environment is designed to create an immediate relationship between guest and space, maintaining an informal and convivial atmosphere.
Despite its compact size, the layout fluidly organizes the areas dedicated to consumption and product display. The counter and shelves become an integral part of the venue’s narrative, enhancing some of the products featured on the menu.

Terrazzo-effect surfaces and custom furniture
Terrazzo-effect ceramic surfaces are the main material of the project, covering both custom furniture and architectural surfaces. The grey-beige texture interacts with the chromatic contrast of walls and furnishings, defined by mint green and red colour blocks.
This combination helps create a dynamic and visually recognizable environment, where colour becomes a structural element of the hospitality experience.
Visual identity and convivial atmosphere
The graphic project also maintains a vivid and colourful aesthetic, reinterpreting the language of decorative festoons traditionally used in village fairs with a pop approach. The visual identity reinforces the convivial character of the restaurant and its relationship with Italian street food.
The custom-designed high tables and the seating selected for indoor and outdoor areas suggest an informal use of the space, consistent with àPetit’s gastronomic concept.

A multidisciplinary project between interiors and communication
Through a multidisciplinary approach integrating interior design, graphics and communication, lamatilde creates a complete experience within a compact space. Colours, materials, custom-made furniture and visual identity work together to define a young, recognizable environment aligned with the brand’s positioning.
