Ristorante Amedeo Livorno: interior design and lighting

Lampadario artistico e illuminazione raffinata nel Ristorante Amedeo a Livorno.

Ristorante Amedeo Livorno is an interior design project by MODO architettura + design, located opposite the Teatro Goldoni. The space combines restaurant and cocktail bar functions through a calibrated use of light, colour and materials.

The concept of Ristorante Amedeo Livorno

The project divides the interior into two main rooms, connected by a burnished brass corridor leading to an outdoor veranda. This area, defined by a petrol green canopy, pink seating and vintage rugs, establishes a direct visual relationship with the theatre.

Lighting design at Ristorante Amedeo

The project uses lighting as a central element of the spatial composition. In the first room, a large chandelier introduces orange and pink tones, creating a strong contrast with the petrol green walls.

The bar counter, clad with 3D tiles, and the botanical wallpaper contribute to a layered visual atmosphere. The lighting system by Vibia balances the composition with a more discreet presence.

Materials and furniture

The tables and seating at Ristorante Amedeo Livorno are made with selected materials, including terrazzo tops and mustard leather upholstery. The furniture layout creates a visual path towards the second dining room.

Here, warm grey walls are illuminated by Vibia Flamingo lamps, whose light silhouettes interact with the rounded geometry of the tables.

Among the distinctive details is a pink neon sign reading “not just anyplace”, together with decorative elements such as bright red banana plants by Pols Potten and bespoke hand-shaped coat hangers designed by MODO architettura + design.

Spatial atmosphere

The interior creates a coherent sequence of spaces in which light, surfaces and materials define the identity of the restaurant. The chromatic and material choices establish a balance between dining experience and cocktail bar atmosphere.

The result is an interior where decorative elements and technical solutions work together to define a clear and recognisable spatial experience.
