MODGI Group designs the Italian restaurant Bona Capona in Saint Petersburg

MODGI GROUP signs the project of the Italian restaurant BONA CAPONA

MODGI Group designs the project for the Italian restaurant Bona Capona in Saint Petersburg, creating an interior inspired by the atmosphere of rural Italy and the convivial dimension of Mediterranean hospitality. The project interprets contemporary hospitality design through natural materials, warm tones and a spatial layout focused on comfort and permanence.

The interior combines handcrafted details, custom furniture and textured surfaces to create a bright and welcoming environment strongly connected to the imagery of Italian domestic interiors.

The restaurant layout organizes the dining experience through fluid and convivial zoning

The spatial configuration is based on a rational zoning principle that defines different areas dedicated to guest experience. The central composition of the dining hall revolves around a column finished with decorative perforated ceramic tiles, creating a visual anchor within the layout.

Sofa seating with accent cushions, large floor cachepots with olive trees and raised seating platforms contribute to a relaxed but structured atmosphere. The podium seating areas are defined by lightweight metal railings with wooden insertions, creating more intimate zones designed for comfort and longer stays.

Natural materials and handcrafted details define the restaurant identity

The material palette combines wood, jute, shelly limestone and decorative ceramics to reinforce the reference to traditional Italian interiors. A niche featuring double sofas, woven jute lightshades and limestone wall finishes introduces a warm and domestic atmosphere connected to the family-oriented area of the restaurant.

The bar counter, characterized by a massive oak tabletop, both separates and connects the main dining area with the beverage zone. Large table supports finished with red mosaics become a strong visual accent within the interior.

Decorative lighting and custom furniture create a warm hospitality atmosphere

Many of the interior elements are custom designed specifically for the project. Pendant lamps made from thick woven jute ropes interact with elegant glass details, creating a contrast between raw textures and refined decorative elements.

Gloss pottery with decorative patterns, rattan insertions and references to olive leaves contribute to a coherent and recognizable interior identity. The extensive use of warm terracotta tones visually connects materials, furniture and architectural details throughout the restaurant.

Large panoramic windows allow abundant natural light into the interior, reinforcing the bright and welcoming atmosphere that defines the concept of Bona Capona.

The hospitality project interprets a contemporary vision of Italian conviviality

The Bona Capona restaurant develops a spatial language based on simplicity, warmth and material continuity. The project avoids excessive decorative gestures, focusing instead on balanced proportions, tactile materials and a comfortable dining environment.

The interior reflects a contemporary approach to hospitality design where atmosphere, emotional perception and customer permanence become central elements of the restaurant experience.
