Passoni Design and Listone Giordano present Terre di Vigna, the first parquet finish enriched with natural stains obtained from wine. The project brings together material research, sustainability and wood culture, applying to parquet a process developed within Passoni Design’s Natural Culture philosophy.
The experimentation is applied to the Medoc collection, designed by Michele De Lucchi for Listone Giordano. The project interprets parquet as a living material surface, capable of integrating design, chromatic research and natural processes.

The parquet finish uses wine and grape pomace to generate natural wood colours
Terre di Vigna builds on Passoni Design’s experience in natural wood treatment. Through a patented process, wine and grape pomace are used to colour wooden surfaces by exploiting the natural chemical properties of organic substances.
The acidity of wine, combined with iron oxides, activates a self-colouring reaction that naturally modifies the wood. Its alcoholic properties also make it possible to use fully natural pigments, carrying the colour into the surface and producing distinctive high-quality shades.
The process is completely free from harmful emissions and avoids polluting treatments, reinforcing the sustainable approach of the project.
The Medoc collection becomes the material base for the experimentation
The new finish is applied to Medoc, the collection designed by Michele De Lucchi for Listone Giordano’s Natural Genius project. Presented more than ten years ago, the surface was conceived as a contemporary interpretation of solid wood parquet.

The project creates an ideal connection between Umbria, the forests of Burgundy and the wine-growing territory of Bordeaux. The name Médoc refers to the historic French wine region and reinforces the conceptual link between wood and wine culture.
The choice of this collection enhances the experimental character of the finish and the dialogue between design, nature and production tradition.
Natural materials and technological research define the project identity
Passoni Design’s Natural Culture philosophy interprets wood as a living and transformable material. The project preserves the authentic perception of the surface, enhancing texture, depth and tactile quality.
The Medoc collection combines technological innovation and material research to preserve the “pulp” effect of wood, emphasizing consistency, mass and authenticity. The intervention shows how research on natural finishes can open new applications in wood flooring and contemporary design.
The use of natural wine-based colouring also introduces a new reflection on the relationship between surfaces, sustainability and production culture.
