The Wood Cocktail Bar project in Milan originates from the transformation of a previous venue, inspired by a metro station and perceived as too cold and impersonal. At the owner’s request, the new intervention develops a warmer and more enveloping atmosphere, inspired by the idea of a “smoking room”, conceived as a space where guests can enjoy special aromas and cocktails.
Cairati Remo e Figli Sas curated the furnishing and project, with the aim of translating ideas and budget into a practical, functional and sustainable solution. The result is a public venue where wood, raw iron, burnished metal and light contribute to an interior with a vintage and material character.
Public venue furniture with wooden walls and flooring
The project uses Oak Farmhouse by Pergo wooden parquet for walls and flooring, defining a material continuity that wraps the space. The choice of wood responds to the need to move beyond the cold image of the previous venue and create a more welcoming interior.
The wooden cladding becomes the main identity element of the cocktail bar, contributing to the perception of warmth and to the definition of an intimate atmosphere.

Bar counter in fir wood, raw iron and burnished metal
The bar counter is made of thick fir wood, stained dark and integrated with raw iron beams. The service top in galvanic bath burnished metal completes the composition and introduces a vintage effect consistent with the venue concept.
The combination of dark wood, metal and raw details reinforces the material character of the intervention and defines the counter as a central element of the interior experience.
Lighting design with RGB LED and diffused light
The back-bar shelves are equipped with dimmable RGB LED bars, allowing the luminous atmosphere of the cocktail bar to be adjusted. This solution is combined with lights filtering through a fabric drape on the ceiling, generating a soft and enveloping effect.
Light is not only a technical component, but also contributes to the perceptive identity of the venue, enhancing materials, surfaces and spatial depth.

Custom tables and metal structure
The custom-designed tables feature a powder-coated tubular metal structure that integrates with the seating. This choice maintains coherence between furniture, materials and the overall atmosphere, completing a project conceived for convivial and informal use.
