concrete designed the interiors and graphic identity of Oikoa, a massage boutique located in Zwolle, Netherlands. The project defines an introverted environment of calm, conceived as a place where guests can leave the outside world behind and recharge in a natural, harmonious setting.

An introspective spatial concept
Oikoa, the Finnish word for “smooth correction”, is designed as a serene space focused on personal wellbeing. The project transforms the existing extroverted glass cube by turning it inward and placing an organic-shaped central area at the heart of the building.
The treatment rooms are positioned around the perimeter, while guests enter directly into the core of the boutique: a warm, introspective space enclosed by multiple curved walls.
Curved walls, oak laths and intimate waiting areas
The central space is lined with warm oak laths that follow the curved geometry of the interior. These walls create intimate seating niches, furnished with softly curved benches upholstered in moss green velvet.
The result is a calm and protected waiting area where guests can prepare for their treatment in comfort.

Graphic identity and natural references
In addition to the interior design, concrete developed the full identity of Oikoa, including the name, logo, website and printed materials.
The name refers to the feeling of calm after a treatment, when the body feels untangled and almost liquid. This idea is reflected in the logo, which combines a liquid oil drop with a minimal and elegant typeface.
Bright white backgrounds and pine green tones support the natural and harmonious atmosphere of the massage salon. A secondary colour palette, inspired by oil drops, draws from Finnish natural elements such as ferns, aspen trees, cloudberries and bellflowers.
