More than ten years after its creation, the online concept store Smallable, founded by Cécile Roederer and Pierre Rochand, has become a trend laboratory for children, home and lifestyle. The two Smallable spaces on Rue du Cherche-Midi in Paris create a meeting point for local clients, international visitors and an advanced selection of fashion and lifestyle products for the whole family.
To host its womenswear selection in a new dedicated setting, the women’s boutique has been entirely designed by JCPCDR Architecture around a unique and original experience, in line with the principles of Cécile and Pierre.
Smallable’s womenswear offer brings together leading brands and emerging designers, with a refined yet accessible selection focused on durability, silhouette harmony and details including jewellery and lingerie.

Retail concept and identity: the Smallable boutique in Paris
The boutique occupies a typically Parisian and rather compact space, completely transformed and structured through carefully calculated sculptural partitions. Designed by hand and then modelled to scale, these organic alcoves incorporate custom furniture, allowing space and products to respond to each other around the visitor.
Wrapping the room like a cocoon, the arches create a sense of intimacy and gradually reveal the Smallable collections.
Retail layout and integrated display systems
The sinuous design elegantly integrates furniture, display systems and a discreet fitting room, highlighting the different product categories within an exclusive and harmonious environment.
The spatial configuration supports a gradual discovery of the collections, avoiding a rigid subdivision of the boutique and favouring continuity between architecture, furniture and product display.
Materials in retail design: sustainability and visual coherence
In response to the sustainable approach undertaken by Cécile and Pierre over the years, the entire design has been conceived with quality and durability in mind.
Ash wood from the Vosges forest, sustainably managed, is combined with hydraulic lime applied according to an ancestral method, creating a balanced dialogue of regular textures.

Retail experience: atmosphere, perception and spatial continuity
The color palette, guided by the textures of natural materials, underlines the richness of the collections and invites calm and relaxation.
The continuous curves, integrated displays and soft material tones define a unified retail environment, where the customer experience is built through intimacy, rhythm and gradual discovery.
