A multi-brand motorcycle store in Krasnodar

Motorikka is a network of multi-brand stores specialising in motorcycles and riding equipment, offering products from internationally recognised brands such as Kawasaki, Dainese, Sidi and Spidi.

Located in Krasnodar, the store represents the largest motorcycle retail space in the region. It is also the second location, after the Moscow store, to introduce an updated design concept developed by Bad Reputation Architects.

Flexibility as a design strategy

The project is based on the idea of versatility within a large, multi-level retail space. The design allows for rapid reconfiguration, enabling brand zones to be added, relocated or replaced with minimal effort.

This flexible approach supports the evolving nature of a multi-brand retail environment, where assortment and brand presence may change over time.

Material palette and brand identity

The spatial concept is defined by a restrained material palette: dark grey surfaces act as a neutral canvas, while concrete elements provide the structural frame of the environment.

Within this framework, individual brands are expressed through specific materials and colours. For example, Indian is represented through its signature maroon tones combined with wood finishes, while Klim introduces strong yellow accents.

Graphic language and wayfinding

A recurring rhomboid pattern is used throughout the store, appearing in different forms and applications. This graphic element references the dynamics of racing and reinforces the identity of the space.

Wayfinding elements follow the same visual logic, combining functional signage with a consistent aesthetic language that contributes to the overall retail experience.

Modular display system

Given the multi-brand nature of the store, the project required a highly adaptable display system. The designers developed a flexible fixture solution in which both shelves and hooks can be adjusted in height.

This system allows for multiple display configurations. Products can be arranged in single or double layers depending on price range and seasonality, while end displays and front-facing presentations can be easily implemented.

Additional components enable the presentation of specific product categories, such as eyewear, and allow for the integration of graphic materials or promotional collections.

Lighting strategy and product focus

The lighting design is based on two types of spotlights. A narrow beam is used to highlight equipment, while a wider rectangular beam is directed towards the motorcycles displayed at the centre of the store.

This approach ensures that only the merchandise is illuminated, guiding the customer’s attention and reinforcing product visibility within the space.
