Acne Studios in Miami: a modular flagship shaped by tropical softness

Acne Studios makes its debut in Miami with a new store located in the heart of the Design District, the city’s hub for art, design and fashion. This first retail space in Florida explores the idea of “tropical softness”, combining a refined aesthetic with a contemporary architectural language that responds to its urban context.

A modular concept between minimalism and refinement

The project, designed by Swedish studio Halleroed, unfolds across two levels covering a total area of 200 square metres and is defined by a modular system in polished aluminium. Neutral tones and open layouts enhance the visibility of the collections, placing garments and accessories at the centre of the spatial composition.

White marmorino walls, a textured and polished plaster finish, amplify natural light, while black granite steps and custom-made rugs by Swedish company Katshall introduce depth and material contrast.

Lighting design and Art Deco references

Lighting plays a central role in shaping the space, with curved fixtures tracing a continuous graphic movement throughout the interior. This lighting concept, developed by Benoît Lalloz, had already been explored in the Acne Studios flagship store on rue Saint-Honoré in Paris.

References to Art Deco, a defining element of Miami’s architectural identity, emerge in the detailing of the sofas and in the mannequins created by artist Daniel Silver. These are complemented by furniture pieces by Max Lamb, introducing an additional layer of softness through bold colours and organic forms inspired by the brand’s SS23 collection and its hand-dyed batik textiles.

A sculptural element and curated retail selection

One of the most distinctive features of the store is a large black cylindrical volume that extends from the ceiling of the ground floor, housing a spiral staircase that connects the two levels. This element acts as both a functional core and a strong visual anchor within the space.

The store offers a curated selection of menswear and womenswear, footwear, accessories and an updated range of the iconic Musubi bag, positioning the space as a key destination for the brand’s audience.
