The eco-conscious fashion brand Pangaia has opened its first semi-permanent physical store inside Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées in Paris. Designed by Random Studio, the space introduces a sustainable retail concept based on modular elements, developed to be adaptable and replicable across different locations.
A sustainable retail concept for the brand’s future
The store is conceived as a flexible system, where furniture and architectural components can be reconfigured over time. This approach allows the brand to maintain design consistency while adapting to different retail contexts.
An evolving pop-up with flagship characteristics
Located on the first floor of the department store and enhanced by natural light, the store operates as a temporary pop-up with flagship qualities. This hybrid format anticipates the international retail expansion of Pangaia, reflecting the brand’s focus on innovative materials and sustainability-driven design strategies.

A design inspired by scientific laboratories
The project by Random Studio is defined by the use of recycled and recyclable materials, including glass, aluminum, and a circular material created from compressed textile waste.
Glass display units line both sides of the store, organizing products by color. As a result, the layout generates a clear visual structure while reinforcing the experimental identity of the brand.

Innovation and transparency in materials
At the center of the space, a multi-layered transparent glass counter functions as a narrative device. It presents the lifecycle of the materials used by Pangaia, from origin to final production.
This design choice highlights supply chain transparency, transforming the retail environment into an educational and informative experience. In this context, sustainable retail becomes an integral part of spatial storytelling.

A green ecosystem within the store
At the rear of the store, a horizontal terrarium hosts a curated selection of plants maintained by local specialists. This natural installation can be adapted according to season and location.
The presence of vegetation reinforces the connection between the brand and environmental responsibility. Therefore, the project completes a retail concept that integrates modularity, circular materials and natural elements.
