Lin Fusion Restaurant: A Harmonious Blend of Mountain and Sea Culture in Shanghai

Lin Fusion Restaurant

Lin Fusion seamlessly integrates Taizhou cuisine with the rich regional heritage of the East China Sea. Inspired by the mythical world of the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing), the design simplifies Eastern mythical symbols, transforming them into modern, vibrant art installations that evoke auspicious meanings.

Designed by JACKY.W DESIGN, this project redefines Oriental aesthetics with innovative materials, artistic techniques, and contemporary design concepts. Situated in the heart of Shanghai, the restaurant immerses guests in a unique culinary and cultural experience that celebrates the harmony of mountain and sea culture.

Reception Foyer: An Oceanic Welcome

The journey begins in the foyer, where dynamic lighting inspired by fishing nets complements a marine-blue floor motif. A reception desk reflecting ocean waves and islands mirrors the โ€œmountain and sea cultureโ€ concept, with LED lighting simulating fish swimming below the surface. This circular space fluidly connects guests to the restaurantโ€™s dining areas, enhancing their immersive experience.

Open Dining Area: Expansive Skyline Views

Guests are guided through a corridor illuminated with artful lighting, evoking an underwater paradise. Flanked by private rooms themed around mythical creatures from Shanhaijing, the corridor opens to a spacious dining area. Here, a bar crafted from translucent stones takes center stage, while panoramic views of Shanghaiโ€™s iconic skylineโ€”including the World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai Towerโ€”blend urban elegance with cultural heritage.
