With Pollux New, ERCO updates one of its most recognizable spotlights for accent lighting, maintaining its formal language — a compact cylindrical body and track adapter with integrated electronics — while significantly improving performance. The result is a luminaire designed to operate across different contexts, from museums to hospitality, retail environments and residential interiors, where beam precision and light quality must coexist with compact dimensions and quick track installation.
An electronic upgrade for higher performance
The core of the evolution lies in its electronics: Pollux New introduces newly developed control components that enable 33% more light output without changing the overall size. The compact 66 mm diameter allows the integration of an additional LED on the board, increasing luminous performance compared to the previous model while maintaining identical dimensions.
Durability and thermal management as design factors
The performance increase is closely linked to durability. ERCO highlights how the thermal management of the die-cast aluminium housing, together with a completely redesigned optoelectronic system, is engineered to ensure a minimum service life of 20 years, in line with the company’s current standards.
In this context, the relationship between size and performance becomes central: achieving the same lighting output with a more compact format contributes to reducing the use of materials and resources, supporting a more efficient approach to lighting design.
Greenology® strategy and product positioning
The project is part of ERCO’s Greenology® strategy, which combines technological expertise with environmental responsibility through energy efficiency, product longevity, low-emission production and the development of a circular economy.
Within this framework, Pollux New strengthens the positioning of the Pollux range as an entry point to ERCO accent lighting: a high-level solution with a competitive quality-price balance, now further enhanced by the electronic upgrade.
