Overlooking Lake Como in the centre of Dongo, El Chiringuito was created by owners Maura and Ivan as a cocktail bar inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of Caribbean beach bars. Bernasconi Group designed the interior and produced the furnishings, interpreting the concept through natural materials, integrated lighting and custom-made details.
The project covers a 55-square-metre interior in which every element contributes to a coherent identity connected to the theme of the venue and its lakeside setting.
The bar counter becomes the focal point of the interior
The bar counter forms the centre of the space and translates the concept into a contemporary design language. Its front combines iron frames illuminated by RGB LED strips with untreated, fully biodegradable bamboo canes made in Italy.
Behind the counter, a hand-painted wall features representations of exotic leaves. An iron bottle display with minimalist glass shelves completes the composition, organising the operational area while maintaining a visually light and orderly appearance.
Lighting and materials define the cocktail bar atmosphere
Lighting is integrated into the furnishings and plays an active role in shaping the atmosphere. Built-in light sources highlight the bar counter and the other interior elements, while directional lamps create an effect reminiscent of natural sunlight entering the venue.
The combination of iron, glass and bamboo establishes a balance between contemporary materials and natural elements, giving the cocktail bar a recognisable identity without compromising functionality.
Custom design gives El Chiringuito a distinctive identity
The project developed by Bernasconi Group responds to the owners’ intention to create a relaxed, refined and highly personalised environment. Interior design, materials and lighting work together to support an experience consistent with the cocktail bar concept.
The result is a hospitality interior in which atmosphere, functionality and attention to detail contribute to the identity of the venue.
