An imposing six-meter-high wooden bookshelf stands as the centerpiece of the “Nude Library,” the new flagship store of Nude Project at La Roca Village, designed by El Departamento as a flagship store design concept. This architectural element, combining display and cultural functions, defines a space where fashion meets culture, embodying the brand’s identity in an environment that transcends traditional retail concepts.

Flagship store design inspired by La Roca Village’s essence

Drawing inspiration from La Roca Village’s unique charm, reminiscent of a late 19th to early 20th-century Catalan village, El Departamento envisioned a store that blends seamlessly into its dynamic surroundings, featuring streets, a main square, a theater, and a commercial promenade. To complete this narrative, co-founders Alberto Eltini and Marina Martín created what was missing: a library as a cultural landmark.

The “Nude Library” was born as a space where a DJ booth reflects the brand’s connection to art and music, while the towering wooden bookshelf symbolizes the creative and cultural inspiration at its core. This central element merges visual and material references, linking architecture to culture and the creative community, reinforcing Nude Project’s ethos: “By Artists, For Artists.”

Brand community at the heart of the design

El Departamento utilized the store’s six-meter-high ceiling to craft the striking bookshelf, which spans the main wall and incorporates a DJ booth at its center. This vertical structure not only organizes the layout but also creates a compelling visual centerpiece, inviting exploration and delivering an immersive experience.

To maximize the 100 square meters, the studio introduced a mezzanine for storage at the rear, adding depth and dynamism to the space. This architectural detail balances functionality and aesthetics, accentuating the store’s verticality while establishing the bookshelf as the focal point.

In contrast to the bookshelf’s clean design, the fitting room area features Nude Project’s signature baby blue tones, rounded shapes, and soft textures, creating a welcoming and harmonious ambiance.

European expansion in progress

The “Nude Library” marks the eighth retail project by El Departamento for Nude Project, following stores in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Valencia, Ibiza, Bilbao, and Milan. This collaboration will continue with an upcoming opening in Amsterdam, furthering the brand’s European expansion and showcasing a shared vision where retail and culture seamlessly converge.
