The Duke Milan: a new hotel inside Milan Central Station

The Duke Milan nella Stazione Centrale di Milano

The Duke Milan, Curio Collection by Hilton is set to open inside Milan Central Station. Developed through a partnership between Grandi Stazioni Retail and Pacini Group, the hotel will occupy 2,546 sqm and feature 44 guest rooms, with interiors designed by Studio Marco Piva. Completion is scheduled for autumn 2027.

Joining the Curio Collection by Hilton portfolio marks a new stage in the development of the scheme, which will bring the brand to a European railway station for the first time. The project introduces a hospitality function within the ongoing enhancement of Milan Central Station, alongside its existing transport, service and retail activities.

The overall investment announced for The Duke Milan amounts to โ‚ฌ11 million, with Grandi Stazioni Retail accounting for 60% and Pacini Group for the remaining 40%.

The hotel’s name draws on the history of Milan Central Station and pays contemporary tribute to the Duke of Savoy-Aosta. Designed for both business and leisure travellers, the property will include a gym and a meeting room in addition to its 44 guest rooms.

A lobby, lounge and dedicated event spaces will complete the programme, providing areas for meetings, networking and corporate occasions within the hotel.

Studio Marco Piva designs the interiors

The interior design of The Duke Milan is by Studio Marco Piva. According to the project presentation, the interiors will respond to the monumental character of Milan Central Station through a contemporary design language.

The first renderings show the hall and reception as a continuous environment combining arrival, waiting and circulation. Large-scale geometries define the flooring, while fluted and reflective surfaces, stone-like and metallic finishes, and different lighting solutions shape the character of the communal areas.

A rendering of one of the guest rooms provides a further preview of the interiors, with a predominantly neutral and dark palette, textile surfaces, integrated lighting and a large figurative panel behind the upholstered headboard.

The sample room is due in autumn 2026

The project is currently under construction. A first milestone will be the completion of a sample room in autumn 2026, providing the first opportunity to see how the proposed interior design translates into a built space.

Completion is scheduled for autumn 2027. The Duke Milan will introduce a new hospitality destination directly within Milan Central Station, adding an international hotel to the transport, retail and service functions already accommodated within the complex.
