A dusty rose palette that reimagines heritage

The interior is awash in a captivating dusty rose tone that wraps walls and finishes in warmth and sophistication. Original 1978 Yung Kee tiles have been revived with this modern hue, honoring the brand’s origins while introducing a fresh aesthetic.

True to the client’s vision, each iteration of Yung’s Bistro is a standalone concept—a distinctive interpretation of a shared legacy. Here, Lim + Lu interpret tradition through a palette of tactile surfaces, from textured plaster to handcrafted tiles, complemented by two stunning bespoke wallpapers by Lalacurio, hand-painted with whimsical geese as a nod to Yung Kee’s culinary icons.

Functional elegance and flexible space design

The split-level layout posed design challenges, overcome by a discreet ramp that smoothly links the kitchen and dining area. Acoustic comfort is prioritized through soft carpeting and sound-absorbing materials that create a serene and intimate environment.

Flexibility defines the space. Movable panels upholstered in sage green vinyl leather allow for reconfiguration into three private VIP rooms or a spacious dining hall. These panels are cleverly hidden behind custom wallpapered doors when not in use, blending seamlessly into the overall design.

A bistro experience that extends outdoors

Near the central bar, a lounge area with plush banquettes offers cozy retreats amidst the social buzz. The contrast of dusty rose and deep green adds a sophisticated flair, visible from skirting boards to seating details.

Outdoors, guests can unwind in a chic alfresco space featuring black and white rattan furniture. Whether sipping cocktails or enjoying afternoon tea, this outdoor lounge mirrors the indoor ambiance, completing the dining experience curated by Lim + Lu.
