Il retail design, o store design,  implica la progettazione di spazi dedicati alla esposizione e vendita di beni e servizi. E’ una specializzazione basata su competenze di vari settori : progettazione architettonica, arredamento,  illuminotecnica, visual merchandising, digital signage etc. Particolarmente importante è la capacità di cogliere ed interpretare i trend socio-economici che interessano il mercato in cui si muove il cliente di riferimento. Si tratta di una materia che implica un approccio interdisciplinare ed una spiccata sensibilità umana e sociale.
